Figulus binodulus is a subsocial stag beetle species native to south western islands of Korea. Even though family Lucanidae as a whole
have received much interests, researches have been conducted only on a few taxa such as tribe Dorcini . We completed the mitochondrial
genome of Figulus binodulus, which is the fist mitochondrial genome of tribe Figulini. Its length is 16,261 bp and GC ratio is 30.7\%. It
contains 13 protein coding genes, 2 rRNA genes, 22 tRNA genes, and a single large control region of 1,717 bp presumably corresponding to
the replication origin, which is the standard components of metazoan mitochondrial genomes. The gene order is preserved throughout
family Lucanidae, which corresponds to the ancestral gene order of all Pancrustaceans . Phylogenetic trees were constructed using all
available stag beetle species, where F. binodulus was found sister to all other mitochondrial genomes of subfamily Lucaninae
